L'ENSABLEMENT DANS LA PLAINE DE TAFILALET (SUD-EST DU MAROC)

A Alali, A Benmohammadi

Abstract

The resurgence of silting in plain Tafilalet phenomena is much related to increasing human pressure to technological changes accompanying a little rational management of resources and unfavorable weather conditions.

In addition, overgrazing exposes surrounding grasslands to a number of aeolien and hydraulic erosion processes; human activities are thus first-order causes of environmental disequilibria observed over the last decades. Hydraulic erosion leading to sand deposition in low areas within the terrain, as well as physical, geomorphologic.

The principle factors leading to desertification and concurrent sanding-up are the lowering of phreatic aquifers, soil fragility and the salination of water and soils under the effect of high evaporation rates.
