Abstract

The availability of groundwater with an acceptable quality has become a difficult challenge in many parts of the world but especially in ours because of the climate severity and pollution (domestic, industrial, agricultural), which weakens and makes them vulnerable to many contamination factors.

The main objective of this work is to determine the status of water quality and make a synthesis map of Inaouen groundwater catchment’s based mainly on the study of physico-chemical and bacteriological groundwater parameters. Analyzes were performed on 54 sampling points well distributed in the watershed of Oued Inaouen according to standard methods.

The results shown that there is a significant deterioration concerning the concentration of nitrate, chloride and some heavy metals in relation to water quality standards. The results of bacteriological analyzes reveal the existence of organic pollution due to the presence of certain pathogens.
