Abstract

The achieved works concern the evaluation of the treatment of muds in the oil spent of drillings mud generated by the company AGIP BV Tunisia. The process consists in a treatment by stabilization / solidification (S/S) of these muds using hydraulic binders, followed by a compaction to the state paste, in order to limit the mobility and the solubility of contaminants.

After homogenization, drillings mud is mixed with a quantity of cement, lime and water, which corresponds to the tested formulation. The obtained smooth paste is subjected to compaction tests using a triaxial press for the production of standard specimens, in which, are carried out after 30, 60 and 90 days hardening, leaching tests and mechanical resistance to compression measurements. Therefore, the treatment by Stabilization/Solidification of drilling muds using hydraulic binders, followed by a compaction to the state paste allows to optimize binder and water amount with a gain of 40% and to improve the retention of pollutants in the cement matrix.
