Abstract

The access of drinking water remain one central concern in the rural area of Madagascar. In fact, almost of the family in the countryside had low outcome and have not the opportunity of safe water from the national factory (JIRAMA). That the majority of the local people have a preference for the underground water (Wells). However, the current study allowed us to verify that some value of the physicochemical and microbiological parameters of the groundwater in Antanifotsy are above of the standard value from OMS (2008) and WHO (2008). All samples from the groundwater are acids (4.34-6.6.92). In addition, iron concentration from all samples are greater than OMS recommendation. Indeed, the sample for microbiologic analyzes reveal the contamination of groundwater by Streptococcus. In contrast, the others parameters meet the standard value for the drinking water (OMS, 2008 and WHO, 2008). In spite of the high agricultural activity in the study site, the underground water remain away from nitrates and ammoniacs contaminations.
