Abstract

The major part of Logone Oriental region is not supplied by the adduction of potable waters. Consequently, community living around mostly those from the rural areas often fetches water from the well, fountains and rivers. This study was conducted to evaluate the quality of physico chemical resources in terms of waters consumed by those people. 30 sampled waters from the well, fountains and rivers were taken randomly according to the device sets. About 10 sources of water were selected each. To appreciate the quality of each sources selected, physico chemical parameters such as pH, temperature, electric conductivity, ions NO3-, NO2-, NH4+, F-, Cl- and Zn2+ were analyzed. The results from the physical point of view show that waters from the well and fountains have a pH which tend to be acid, from the chemical view point, fountains and rivers content ion nitrates above the WHO norms. Based on the parameters analyzed, the quality of each.
