Abstract

The study was carried out in the Center-Eastern of Ivory Coast specifically in the departments of M'bahiakro, Dimbokro and Daoukro. This work is aimed at analyzing the hydrodynamic properties specifically the aquifer storage coefficient using a geostatistical approach, for a better understanding and management of groundwater resources in this region. To do this, a compilation of data comprising a set of 150 drilling data sheets as well as pumping tests available in the area was made. The methodology consisted of one part, in the determination of the storage coefficient from the method of scooping. On the other hand, a geostatistical analysis for this parameter was performed. The values of storage coefficient calculated fluctuate between 1.88.10-5 and 7.96.10-1 and range over five orders of magnitude showing the heterogeneity of the environment. However, these results are part of the orders of magnitude generally obtained in fissured aquifers (10-7-10-1). The results of the geostatistical analysis show that the model that best adjusts to the values of the storage coefficient is the spherical model. The estimated storage coefficient by kriging is satisfactory and helped to highlight the spatial behavior of this essential parameter in the characterization of the storage capacity of reservoirs. The results obtained in this study contribute to a better understanding of hydrogeological properties of Center-Eastern of Ivory Coast.
