QUALITE ET FACTEURS DE RISQUE DE POLLUTION DES EAUX SOUTERRAINES PERIURBAINES DE LA VILLE DE SEBAA AYOUNE (MEKNES, MAROC)
Abstract
This study is aims to determine the physico-chemical and bacteriological quality of the well water and other water sources in some suburban districts of the urban municipality Sebaa Ayoune. The choice of the selected stations is primarily based on the fact of their exposure to various health risk factors, such as, the absence of sewerage and lack of the drinking water network. The study period lasts 3 months (May, June and July of the year 2013).
The results of physico-chemical analyses showed the values of concentrations satisfactory for Nitrates, sulphate, chloride, temperature, pH, conductivity and dissolved oxygen for all sites study, with the exception of station (S2) which revealed a mean concentration ammonium of 0.64 mg/l, exceeding the Moroccan standards. Furthermore, the bacteriological results of this study show 77,7°/° stations are highly contaminated and contain values, exceeding standards, indicators of fecal pollution: the total aerobic mesophilic flora, total coliforms, fecal coliforms, Escherichia coli, streptococci, Enterococci, and sulfite-reducing Anaerobes.
At the end of this study, we can deduce that the waters of the aforementioned stations constitute a serious health risk for the population.
